Ok, so I didn’t eat a whole book, but it’s only because mom intervened before I could finish the job. See, I was minding my own business Sunday morning while mom was making coffee. I thought I’d lay over the back of the couch (the cat does it, why can’t I?) and check things out. That’s when I noticed the cat was also laying on the back of the couch; I did not pick this spot because the cat was there, or maybe I did, that’s for me to worry about. Anyway, the cat kept staring at me, mom kept making coffee, and I became a bit, er, bored. So, in front of me was this delicious looking paper and I love paper, so I thought I’d give it a try. I mean, mom basically left it for me on the couch since she knows I sometimes lay there (I am not copying the cat!). Well, lo and behold mom saw what was happening after a short time and before I know it my name was being said at an octave or two higher than normal. Naturally I look up and give her my gorgeous chocolate puppy dog eyes, but on this day I don’t think she was impressed. Instead she grabbed the book out of mouth and gave a big sigh. I mean, I thought this was at least worthy of a “good boy” but I suppose not. There was an utterance of something along the lines of, “I’m sorry things have been so stressful,” and “dog park later,” but I wasn’t really paying attention. All I know is mom took the book away and so far it’s stayed well beyond my reach; it’s rather annoying. So now I guess it’s back to the drawing board with what I can chew next, and this time I’ll have to pick something mom will definitely be proud of; maybe a pair of shoes.
